I'm assuming its Net amount so after discount pretax. I hope FL Inc. won't be a dick like Finishline where they make the limit prediscount.

A job is a job. Just be happy you got one. Not a lot of ppl can say they have one in today's economy.
I respect anyone with a job. No matter what it is. It doesn't matter how much you make, it's what you're doing with that money (providing, charity, donations,etc...)

Not saying all employees at these spots are foul but alot of ya'll are outright dirty. Selling FSR's to friends out the back door prior to release and such.... Ya'll know who you are.

All of you employees of FTL should be happy to have a discount to begin with. My job (airline) when I first got hired we got to fly anywhere for free and then it stopped. We had to pay the taxes on the flight now don't get me wrong but I love the flight benefits but im more happy for a job much less a perk of flying.

Well cutting down the discounts will deter alot of employees from hooking folks up and copping stuff that retail paying customers should have access to... Think about it tho, employee tells the homies to cop the FSRs then they have them bring some pairs back after a week or so to return then re-cop on discount. I used to have friends that work at sneaker spots so I know the drill... Hell I used to work at Niketown myself so I'm just sayin...

But without a discount.. You can still hold pairs and give out fsr of release date shoes.. They can't be discount unless it's a employee discount.. No $10 or $15 off.

And you can't return release shoes anyway.

#1 Who spends more than $500 a month on discount anyway? Especially if they only make $7.25? (i worked for champs and bought stuff all the time, and still didnt average more than $200 a month)

I'm for the workers on this one.

Getting a discount is major perk for working at Foot Locker. That job isnt that glamourous. Having to help dumb people try on shoes and dealing dumb sneakerheads( like you and me) that call them and ask them stupid questions. And all these customers look down at them but want them to be super friendly at the time. Granted I do get mad when they pull shady stuff for some big releases but at the end of the day it doesnt make me mad that long.I'm sure flipping a few shoes a month is how some of the smart employees survive.

People really cant put themselves in others shoes if yall worked at Foot Locker yall wouldnt like it either. What employee likes their benefits being taken away?

I personally get tired of goin to my local store and half the stock of  certain shoes are "sold" before the doors even open on release day, So not to be a hater but im glad it might help me get my next pair easier because the employees used up his discount already

This..has happened to me a couple times. You call, ask how many they got, and then you get there when the doors open: pairs go from 40 to 20.

if you work at footlocker, footaction, champs you make an average $7.25 an hour....that is not a live able wage!!!!! The only good thing about the job is the discount. 
The discount has been shrinking in amounts and quantity since the new CEO took over.  

One question to all of you fellow employees are you mad enough to do something about it...or keep getting screwed...
I personally know Sneakgeekz as well as a lot of famous shoe heads....plus hundreds of angry employees 
would you back me up if I organized a protest?  Let me know your feelings

This idea has been goin around for a while..so it shouldn't b a shocker..who cares about losing hours for a discount..or the amount you spend..buy what you can within the 500 dollar limit..it's not hard..ration my friends..

I no longer work for the company so it doesn't apply to me..but i have plenty of hookups who will help me even when this goes down..I got outta the company while I still could..I no longer feel the need to work for minimum wage and get treated like crap by customers who think they know more than you..

Not everyone is part-time
Not everyone gets 7.25
Not everyone flips shoes or holds shoes
People have other jobs... FootLocker isn't everyones sole source of income.

And things add up

Like Feb. All those sneakers dropping.. Your bound to spend $500

And it's not $500 that you can buy period.. It's $500 you can buy discount.

Employees can still buy it full price.. Not all employees are cheap

They use their discount because they can and to save money.

Like if my limit of $500 is reached.. I'm still going to buy the shoe.. Full price

Not the people in this thread (maybe some of you) but Niketalk as a whole is full of cheapskates... You all want something for nothing.. Want crazy Hookups.. And/or want FTL Niketalk employees to pull rabbits out of they hats..

Or just wait for stuff to go on sale months later and complain that they don't have they size..


I'm just going to speak for me..
This discount thing really doesn't bother me, if my limit is reached.. I'll pay full price.
FootLocker is only my part-time
I have another job

I do feel bad for people who Count on discount to get kicks or whatever

And I still don't understand what a discount has to do with holding pairs for people or sell fsr early..

I think people would probably do it more for extra cash or buy the pairs and resell..


The $500 limit isn't going to stop people from helping more or selling early.

if you are complaining about only being able to spend $500 per month with your discount, then the fact that you make 7.25 an hour isn't your biggest problem.

if you can't live on what you are making, find a better job. nobody forces you to work at footlocker and its a job that takes zero technical skills, so why would they pay well? they know people only work there for the discount. mall jobs have always been low paying for the most part and always will be because footlocker as a corporation probably receives hundreds of thousands of applications every day from people who would be happy to work for the company at minimum wage. the company is in compliance with labor laws, so a protest would really only result in a PR issue that would more than likely get all parties involved fired.

Wow, lot's of ignorance on here, so I guess I need to set the record straight.  FIRST, I am a Footaction Manager, and I make 56k a year.  SECOND my partimers get $7.25hr PLUS commission, which in my store they all average about  $9.5 hour, and remember, they are PART TIMERS.  These are mostly highschool and college kids or people who need a second job, they are not depending on paying a mortgage with it.  Third, Footlocker INC may not put stuff on sale as much as Finishline because THEY DON'T HAVE TO.  Finishline buys things with cash, they need to move it quick to get new product, FTL INC uses CREDIT.  If something don't sell, they just send it back.  Trust me, FTL INC isn't hurting, they just spent 30 Mil on a new computer schedule system,they are putting new computers in all stores, and are giving bigger stores IPAD's to use, so as a company we aren't going anywhere.  Oh yea, and if one of my ungrateful employees complains about the discount, I have a folder with about 200 applicants waiting to take their place.
